Cubic panoramas are considered one particular type of spherical panorama because they allow viewers to look vertically up and down. They consist of six planar images - one for each face of a cube. Each of the six images appears as a normal flat image and reveals no perspective distortion or curvature of the horizon. This makes the images relatively simple to edit or manipulate using image-editing software. The cubic panorama is also the most efficient of panoramic formats and may exhibit a vertical field of view in excess of 140 degrees.
