A panoramic head leveller can be placed between a tripod and a panoramic to facilitate the levelling of the tripod attachment point. Although it is possible to achieve an absolutely upright position for a tripod by positioning and adjusting the tripod legs, it is more practical to position the legs where convenient and then level the attachment point via an additional levelling head. Several types are available - select the one that best suits your tripod, tripod head and purpose. The leveller seen on the left is the Manfrotto 438 which allows a levelling setting to be fixed by the action of a single ball and lever action. It is also equipped with a small bubble spirit level.
